Our Program
Our program offers all required core rotations
Family Medicine
Students rotate with primary care faculty who are solely dedicated to community based medicine.
Surgery
Surgery rotations offerevery student an excellent experience in general surgery, and multiple surgical subspecialties.
Internal Medicine
Internal Medicine clerkshipconsists of 12-weeks during which students rotate with faculty clinicians in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Obstetrics/Gynecology
Students work at privatepractices and clinics with highpatient volumes. Students will beable to participate in deliveries over the course of their 6 weeks rotation.
Pediatrics
The Pediatric clerkship represents real world, real time experience in pediatric primary care. Students will be exposed to the nursery, NICU and in some cases ER.
Psychiatry
Psychiatry rotation consists of inpatient APU, adult and adolescent floor, chemical dependency, partial hospitalization, outpatient groups, psycho pharmacology, research and tele-psych.

PIH-Downey Hospital The residency program at PIH Health Downey Hospital originally began in 1993 as part of Rio Hondo Hospital which then moved to Downey Community Hospital and later became Downey Regional Medical Center. In 2013, PIH Health acquired Downey Regional Medical Center and renamed it PIH Health Downey Hospital.

Clinical Simulations
GMCC offers students opportunities to develop their clinical skills, using realistic clinical scenarios with simulated patients.
